A Very Merry Wedding Weekend

It was a very merry (albeit short) wedding weekend in Copper, Colorado this Labor Day weekend.  After a hellacious day of travel on Friday which caused us to miss 50% of the weekend events we were going to attend, the other 50% was fab!  And yeah, it was worth the money spent and stress to see the world's best boss get hitched!  Here are some totally gorgeous pics of the bride and groom that I stole from a co-worker's Instagram account.

Doesn't the background in the first pic look fake it's so perfect?  That was no green screen, folks!  The bride and everyone else rode a ski lift up into the mountain to get to that picture perfect spot.  It's so much easier to get on and off these things without a stupid snowboard hanging from my foot!

God totally played a practical joke on the betrothed couple and their guests with a little rain game we called Will It Or Won't It?  We asked ourselves that question all day.  Amazingly, there was a big enough window of time (and cloud cover) that the couple and guests were able to get up to the mountain, complete the ceremony, and return safely to the base without getting rained on or struck by lightening.  God, you joker, you!  You had everyone worried and it all worked out!  (Thanks, by the way!)

Here we are coming down the mountain...
The theme of the wedding reception was "travel" (perfect for a couple who met on a plane!), but really it was "amazing views".  Here's a shot of me and some co-workers at the reception.
I have to say, at 9,000 feet I'm a wimp.  Both mornings I woke up with a headache that stuck around until noon, so it was a little bit of a relief to drive to Denver on Sunday morning.  I appreciated being 4,000 feet closer to sea level (my natural habitat).
Sunday's travel was much easier than Friday's (see above: not many cars on the road).  With an extra day in our weekend we got to rest and work on organizing our new place... is what I wish I could tell you.  Our Labor Day was spent couch shopping and we have nothing to show for it except that our place is still a mess.  We got a little frustrated because we didn't find a single couch that was the configuration/color/style we need want.  Oh well, there's always next weekend!
The best part about this week (besides getting internet!!!): I finally stocked our kitchen with healthy food so we can quit ordering pizza for a while.
Is ordering pizza when you move a universal thing?  Or am I the only one who does that?  There's something Pavlovian about it to me.  Moving = Pizza.  Now that we're officially moved in and I can see about half of the counter space in my kitchen, it's time to get back on the wagon.  A healthy diet combined with weekends packed with couch shopping and trips to Home Depot?  Sounds like the perfect way to get the summer bod back since it disappeared somewhere between the move and the past couple of trips.  :)  Now, back to organizing this house...
